Case Study: Family Relocation from JLT to Al Barsha
When a young family of four decided to move from their cozy 2-bedroom apartment in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) to a spacious villa in Al Barsha, they knew the process would be more than just transporting boxes. The move was about transitioning to a home where their kids could thrive, with proximity to schools and parks being key factors.
However, the relocation presented unique challenges with delicate items, ongoing landscaping at the new villa, and the need for a seamless setup.
The Challenge: Balancing Efficiency and Personal Touch
The family had three major concerns:
- Fragile Items: A valuable crystal collection and antique furniture required extra care during packing and transportation.
- Kids’ Comfort: The family wanted the children’s rooms set up first to minimize routine disruption.
- Limited Villa Access: Landscaping work at the villa created logistical hurdles for unloading.
These factors called for a detailed plan that balanced efficiency with a personal touch.
The Plan: A Structured Two-Day Move
Our team, led by Rashid Jarwar, devised a clear plan to address the family’s concerns:
Day 1
Day 2
Rashid divided the team into two groups to avoid delays: one specializing in fragile items and the other in furniture handling.
An Unexpected Hiccup
On the evening of the first day, the family remembered a storage unit in their building containing seasonal items like holiday decorations and camping gear. This last-minute addition threatened to disrupt the schedule.
Rashid quickly reassessed the timeline and assigned an extra mover to pack the storage unit while the rest of the team continued with the original plan. The adjustment ensured the move stayed on track.
Execution: Precision and Care
The move proceeded as planned:
- The crystal collection was packed in double-layered bubble wrap and placed in reinforced boxes.
- Furniture disassembly was completed without damage, and protective covers were used for transportation.
- Rashid coordinated with the landscaping crew at the villa to clear a temporary pathway for the truck.
The children’s rooms were prioritized during unloading, with beds, desks, and toys set up by mid-afternoon. This helped the kids settle in while the rest of the villa was being organized.
Outcome: A Smooth Transition
By the end of the second day, the family’s new villa felt like home. The kids were thrilled to find their rooms ready with their favorite toys and books. The parents expressed gratitude for the care taken with their antiques and crystal collections.
