Case Study: Office Relocation from JVC to Bur Dubai for Mushthaque Moidheen
In the bustling world of real estate, timing and location are everything. When Mushthaque Moidheen, the secretary of a well-known real estate agency, decided to relocate his office, he knew he needed a seamless transition.
For legal reasons, we are unable to disclose the name of the real estate company involved in this relocation.
As the business was expanding, the move from JVC to Bur Dubai offered a wealth of new opportunities, better accessibility, and closer proximity to key real estate players in Dubai. What he didn’t expect was how smoothly the transition would be, thanks to Nexmovers.
The Challenge: Minimizing Downtime
Mushthaque’s main concern wasn’t the move’s size but the downtime. As a busy office handling numerous client dealings, he couldn’t afford a delay. The business needed to continue running without disruption, and every minute of downtime had to be accounted for.
We understood the gravity of the situation, so we devised a plan to minimize disruption. The move was scheduled for January 7, 2024—a Sunday, ensuring minimal impact on the office’s daily operations. The timeline was tight, but our team was ready to execute.
The Move: A Carefully Coordinated Plan
When the day arrived, our team was fully prepared. The plan was simple but required precision: we would move the office in three rounds. The first round involved carrying 2 sofas, followed by the second round with 2 tables and 9 chairs, and finally, the last round included the remaining 2 tables and 9 chairs.
Despite the carefully laid plans, one small hiccup occurred. As we were transporting the furniture, one of the truck’s tires unexpectedly burst. Our team remained calm and quickly called for help. A replacement tire was brought in, and we were back on track within an hour. This minor setback was the only delay during the entire operation, and even with the tire issue, we managed to finish the move smoothly.
Team Involvement: Coordination at Its Best
The Nexmovers team worked like a well-oiled machine. Rashid Jarwar, the head of our moving department, led the movers. He and his team of 4 movers worked efficiently, ensuring the heavy furniture was handled carefully.
Meanwhile, Waseem Warraich, who heads our IT department, took charge of the technical aspects of the move. Along with his two technicians, Waseem made sure that the computers, laptops, wiring, and other tech setups were fully operational before the office opened the next day.
The entire move was completed using our 2-ton truck, and within hours, the office was ready for operation in its new location. By the time the day ended, the office had been moved and fully set up, and all systems were functioning smoothly.
Lessons Learned: Flexibility and Planning Are Key
While the move was successful, one key lesson stood out: flexibility. Despite the minor setback with the truck tire, our ability to quickly adapt and solve problems kept the operation on track. We also learned the importance of meticulous planning—from scheduling the move on a Sunday to ensuring the IT setup was completed overnight; every process step was detailed to avoid business disruption.
